Buki in the Magic Forest (1991+ 1993) Dance theater for children from 4 to 100 years, based on an African fairy tale Davis Oladeji Nejo: book, direction, choreography produced by Cross Cultural Communication The theater play tells the story of a young girl being the only one able to save the king from a mysterious illness by finding the water of life in the Magic Forest after facing dangerous adventures with witches, ghosts and big animals. From this story children shall learn to be courageous, to understand their dreams and to help others. His first wife was very jealous and allied with the witches. They cursed the young woman and locked the unborn baby inside her for twelve years. After this time the great Magician did not want to be part of this wicked game any more and broke the curse – Sebe, already 12 years old, was born. The child was very aggressive and after killing all chicken in the village, the villagers drove him away. Alone in the forest he met a very big magic hen, who cured him from his aggressions. After this surprising change Sebe was welcomed back in his village and they celebrated a big feast for him. This story is taken from the Yoruba mythology to teach children what it means to have two wives, the importance of the community, to calm down personal aggresions angainst weaker or handicapped persons and the sense of forgiving. It turns out that they have found a 1000 year old mummy. The famous Prof.Dr.Dr.Dr. Schrebergärtner examines the mummy – the whole world is interested in the results, so that the President of Austria has to release a blackout on the news. But during the night, when the laboratory was closed, "Mr. Ötzi" suddenly wakes up .... What will happen to this 1000 year old "foreigner" in a world of today? The children were asked to draw or write down their own fantasy how the story shall end. This is a multimedia interactive theater, that continues even long after the last curtain has dropped.
